ISO 14001 is a set of criteria for an environmental management system. It maps a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up and operate effective environmental management.
Independent auditors check on a regular basis whether Sharp complies with the respective requirements. An operation in accordance to these requirements assures a continuous green minded performance.
A set of different eco labels are available to emphasize varying degrees of environmental consciousness of a product. The requirements to successfully apply for a label are tough. Needless to say many Sharp products are carrying eco labels, such as the “Blue Angel” or the “EU Eco Label”. For more information about specific eco labels please visit the following sites. If you would like to find out which products carry an eco label, please have a look on our product webpages:
As a matter of course Sharp ensures the compliance with legal requirements in Europe: Chemical registration obligations of “REACh” are complied with, as well as “Waste Electrical and Electronical Equipment Directive” (WEEE) and the “Directive on restrictions of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronical equipment” (RoHS).
